Digital Photography Challenge

In a discussion of photography, someone asked me "Mas, what does that have to be learned from photography in addition to speed, aperture and ISO?"

Simple question that brings me back to when I was learning basic photography. Apart from the difficulties to understand the speed, aperture and ISO and how to combine all three to create certain effects, we then also remains to be preoccupied with the 'ceremony' process-process and print-print images if remembered not a trivial matter as well. Starting from thinkers want to wear what movie, B & W or color, nyari lab that can give discounts tolerable for Notifications, where the mas-mas operator lab its baseball Rese if ditongkrongin and dicerewetin if more nyetak photos ("Mas, cyan him add the little, yaaah .. mostly, Mas ... OK ... So much fit Uh, baseball, ding ... Kurangin little longer.), until excited if it turns out mainstay photos 'not so'. Moreover, the time to learn the process and print their own in a dark room, kehebohannya can be doubled.

So-so I was a little arrogant to claim that I am among those who had suffered two days and feel the transition from film cameras to digital cameras and I can also tell the kids just learning to motret now, be thankful that your life is made easier by not need to go through all the trouble-trouble that.

In general, learning motret now as much more easily. All the hassles that can be eliminated. No more events are confused about using film B & W or color or. Want grain formerly could only be obtained with specific films? Ngerubah color tone before nyetak? Want to cross-processing effect? Take a deep breath, calm, patient, relaxed ... no Photoshop. Photoshop does not provide a solution? Many other softwares ... and cheap (not support piracy but just simply share the reality). Do not know how to convert color to B & W is good? Google stay a minute, okay.

And what challenge now studying photography when romance-romance was gone analog?

In my opinion, it's back to each 'candidate' photographer. The ease of the technical side, it should be balanced with progress in the field 'content'. Precious time that used for washing out the photo-printing, it should be stolen to learn to give life to photos. Able to browse the photographs have a senior photographer, read books, magazines, or newspapers at home and abroad (and of course enjoy the photos), discussion, and not countless ways of sharing. What is important is to learn to understand the difference between good photos and images mediocre. In essence, even though today's photographers life so much easier, does not mean the quality is steadily decreasing. The basic techniques of photography have not changed, not a documentary photographer was, the photographer was the Afghan war veteran, was the wedding photographer, all the same. Panning use slow speed, high-speed freeze wear, disposable bulb if you want to the lines on the street car light, and others. What is essential is that, once the basic techniques had been mastered, so what? Back again to the beginning of this paragraph: it's up to each photographer to learn how to give meaning and life to his photographs. (Dita Alangkara)
